Crvena Zvezda signs Javonte Smart, aiming for playoff push

Crvena Zvezda, currently aiming for a EuroLeague playoff spot, has officially inked 24-year-old point guard Javonte Smart, who joins from the Delaware Blue Coats in the G League.

Smart, recently waived by the Philadelphia 76ers after a brief stint, signed a contract until the season’s end, with the team holding an option for an extension.

Starting the season with the 76ers, Smart’s time was short-lived, featuring in just one game and getting waived in December.

In the G League, he showcased his skills, averaging 18.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 34.2 minutes over six games with the Blue Coats.

Crvena Zvezda, currently in the 13th place in the EuroLeague with a record of 9 wins and 2 losses, strategically adds Smart to bolster their lineup for a strong playoff push.
