Jazz extend Lakers’ woes, overcoming D’Angelo Russell’s 39 points

Lauri Markkanen’s stellar performance of 29 points, nine rebounds, and five assists propelled the Utah Jazz (21-20) to a 132-123 victory over the struggling Los Angeles Lakers (19-21) on Saturday night.

Collin Sexton’s 27 points and Jordan Clarkson’s 21 contributed significantly to the Jazz’s eighth consecutive home win and their fifth straight victory overall. John Collins and Keyonte George added 19 points each, with Collins also securing a team-high 13 rebounds.

D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers with a season-high 39 points and eight assists, showcasing his offensive prowess. Austin Reaves contributed 19 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter, while Rui Hachimura added 17.

Despite LeBron James’ absence due to a left ankle injury, Anthony Davis recorded a triple-double for the Lakers with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assist.
