Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Josh Green praised Kyrie Irving as a teammate/leader after Thursday’s 128-124 home win vs. the New York Knicks.

Reporter: “I’m sure you watched Kyrie growing up before getting to the league. What’s it like being on his team now watching him up close score 44 points on your team?”
Green: “It’s crazy. It’s funny because I always have a moment like that where I’m like, ‘I’m on the team with Kyrie and everybody.’ Even just being in the NBA, man, I’m just grateful. All the opportunities to be here, to be able to learn so much. It’s amazing to have him as a teammate. But also he teaches a lot on the court, but also off the court, too. He’s a very down to earth guy. He’s been an amazing veteran for the younger guys. At his age and everything, all the success he’s done; the competitiveness that he has. And tonight, he was picking up full-court. He was asking me like, ‘Hey, let me pick up Jalen [Brunson] full-court.’ For somebody who’s had that much success in the NBA, as a young guy looking at that, it motivates you and it’s really cool.”
