As the NBA trade deadline looms, the Los Angeles Lakers are exploring ways to enhance their roster, but recent reports indicate they are resolute in retaining third-year guard Austin Reaves.

While there is speculation around potential trade targets like Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks, the Lakers are adamant about not parting ways with Reaves in any potential deals.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Lakers have communicated to other teams that they have no intention of trading Austin Reaves. The possibility of acquiring Murray might involve including Reaves in the deal, but the Lakers are currently not inclined to pursue such a trade unless the Hawks offer more value.

The Lakers’ stance on Reaves suggests that they value his contributions and see him as an integral part of their current and future plans.

Despite the rumored interest in Murray, the Lakers appear to be cautious about sacrificing Reaves, who has been a consistent performer for them this season. Reaves is averaging 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 30 minutes per game this year.

The 25-year-old guard signed a new four-year, $54 million deal with the Lakers last summer, underlining the organization’s commitment to his role within the team.

While trade discussions continue across the league, the Lakers seem determined to hold on to Reaves as they seek to fortify their roster for the challenges ahead, particularly in supporting star players LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
