Nate Robinson: “I think Victor Wembanyama is an alien”

In an interview with The Sports Geek, former NBA star and Dunk Contest champion Nate Robinson unleashed a stunning rant, criticizing the NBA’s haste in anointing San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama as the next basketball superstar, going so far as to dub him an “alien.”

Robinson expressed his disbelief, stating, “They want Victor Wembanyama to be great, but he hasn’t even played a full season yet. They’re not letting him become great; they’re already saying he is great. Let him play some seasons first, jeez Louise. Slow down and let him play some seasons first. I haven’t ever seen somebody get rushed to become a superstar in my life. Holy sh**.”

The former NBA star highlighted the uniqueness of Wembanyama’s skill set, noting the 7’4″ player’s exceptional agility, shooting prowess, and overall basketball ability.

“Maybe it’s because they’ve never seen somebody like this guy before, a 7-foot-four-ins guy who can move and play basketball and shoot,” he said. “Usually, those type of guys are unorganized, they can’t run, shoot, dunk or do anything. But now the world is changing and guys can move like they’re five-foot-seven.”

Robinson continued, “I think Victor Wembanyama is an alien, I don’t think he is from this earth, and I think they’re just messing with us. I think they’ve put an alien in the NBA, but they now have two of them, and the other alien is LeBron James.”

Currently, Wembanyama is making a strong case for the Rookie of the Year award in his debut NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs. The number one draft pick is averaging an impressive 19.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in just under 30 minutes per game, showcasing skills that have left basketball enthusiasts and veterans alike in awe.
