Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is scheduled for arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this week, a necessary step after exhausting non-surgical knee rehabilitation methods.

Vincent, returning for a single game after a 23-game absence, faced swelling in his left knee, prompting his absence from the last two games. The upcoming surgery is anticipated to sideline him for 6-8 weeks.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham expressed the impact of Vincent’s absence, acknowledging the challenges while emphasizing the positive outlook for a strong return after the procedure.

“It’s definitely impactful,” Ham stated. “On the flip side of that, now we’re pleased that there’s going to be a huge light at the end of the tunnel in terms of him getting his stuff cleaned up.”

Vincent, a recent addition from the Miami Heat on a three-year, $33 million deal, aimed to be a pivotal player for the Lakers this season.

The 27-year-old player has appeared in just five games for the Lakers this season, averaging 5.4 points, one rebounds and three assists in 25.4 minutes per game.
