In a recent move, the Charlotte Hornets have decided to waive Theo Maledon, creating an opening in their two-way contract slots.

This decision was announced by Rod Boone, who tweeted, “Theo Maledon has been waived by the #Hornets. Maledon was on a two-way contract and appeared in 13 games this season, averaging 4.2 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds.”

Maledon, who signed a two-way contract with the Hornets on October 15, 2022, found himself waived despite his contributions this season. The 22-year-old guard re-signed with the team on September 29, 2023, under another two-way contract.

During his 13 appearances this season, Maledon averaged 4.2 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game.

This move not only opens up a roster spot for the Hornets but specifically creates an available two-way contract slot.
