Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas didn’t hold back as he shared a strong take on four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson, suggesting that the Golden State Warriors guard has failed to evolve his game since entering the league.
During an episode of Gil’s Arena, Arenas remarked, “[Desmond] Bane came in as a straight spot-up shooter… and now he’s an all-round player. Someone like Klay, he never improved to me. You came in as a spot shooter, and even though you have four rings, you’re still a spot shooter.”
This season, at 33, Thompson is facing challenges, averaging 15.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 30.1 minutes per game. In the final year of his contract, Thompson is under added pressure to perform.
