D’Angelo Russell dominates with 35 points as Lakers crush Pistons

In a redemptive performance following their career-high 44-point loss, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers (11-8) bounced back convincingly against the struggling Detroit Pistons (2-16).

D’Angelo Russell led the charge with a season-high 35 points, complemented by Anthony Davis’ 28 points and LeBron James’ 25, securing a resounding 133-107 victory on Wednesday night. The Pistons suffered their franchise-record 15th consecutive loss, highlighting their ongoing struggles.

Detroit’s Cade Cunningham contributed 15 points, while Isaiah Livers and Isaiah Stewart added 14 and 12 points, respectively. However, the Pistons’ defensive shortcomings proved decisive.

Russell recorded nine assists, Davis dominated the boards with 16 rebounds, and James contributed eight rebounds and four assists.

The Lakers’ top scorers didn’t ease up despite a substantial lead, maintaining focus throughout the game.

While Christian Wood posted 12 points for the Purple and Gold, rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino bounced back with a 10-point performance after a scoreless NBA debut.
