In a recent discussion on Lakers’ leadership, former NBA star Kevin Garnett resonated with Gilbert Arenas, emphasizing that the Los Angeles Lakers continue to be LeBron James’ team, casting doubt on Anthony Davis’s ability to take the helm.

Garnett, in a conversation with Stephen A. Smith, highlighted the nuanced perspective. “Anthony Davis probably thinks that he’s doing the best he can,” de said. “He probably thinks ‘Hey look, I’m giving a 100 percent to this. They thinking I can’t give no more. I don’t know, but I gave you what I gave you.’

“That’s what I’m saying. Bro, if you don’t look at it outside the scope of what someone’s giving to you, you see the same, you see how you see it.”

Garnett’s stance aligns with Arenas’s skepticism regarding Davis’s leadership potential. Garnett went on to say, “Anthony Davis probably thinks ‘Hey, I just had 35 [points] and 15 [rebounds] with two blocks. That was a crazy night.’ He might think that that was good for him.”

“We’re talking about the comparisons of and older man and being able to give this to another superstar. I don’t think that he can… look, that’s still LeBron’s team. LeBron looks bouncier than AD. He looks younger!”

This season, as James approaches his 39th birthday, he continues to defy age, averaging an impressive 25.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in just 33.8 minutes per game.

In contrast, the 30-year-old Anthony Davis has posted averages of 21.5 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 35.3 minutes per game.
