Brook Lopez’s 39-point outburst lifts Bucks over Wizards

Brook Lopez’s career-high 39 points propelled the Milwaukee Bucks (11-5) to a narrow 131-128 victory over the struggling Washington Wizards (2-13), handing them their eighth consecutive loss.

The Bucks showcased a historic performance as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard joined Lopez in the 30-point club, marking the first time in franchise history that three players scored at least 30 points in a single game.

Despite Khris Middleton exiting the game early in the third quarter with Achilles tendon tightness, the Bucks displayed resilience, with officials confirming no further imaging was needed for Middleton’s injury.

Antetokounmpo contributed 31 points and nine rebounds, while Lillard added 31 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds.

The Wizards, led by Jordan Poole’s 26 points and contributions from Kyle Kuzma, Tyus Jones, and Corey Kispert, fought fiercely but couldn’t break their eight-game losing streak.

In a game featuring 22 ties and 19 lead changes, Lopez’s clutch 3-pointer with 2:40 left broke the 116-all tie, securing the Bucks’ victory.
