Grizzlies stage epic comeback led by Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane, overpower Spurs

In a stunning turnaround, the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies (3-9) orchestrated a remarkable comeback, erasing a 19-point deficit to defeat the struggling San Antonio Spurs (3-10) 120-108 on Saturday night.

Jaren Jackson Jr. spearheaded the Grizzlies’ charge with an impressive 27-point performance, while Desmond Bane added 26 points in a game that marked Memphis’s largest comeback of the season.

The Grizzlies faced adversity with key players sidelined, including Ja Morant (suspension), Marcus Smart (ankle), Luke Kennard (knee), Brandon Clarke (Achilles), and Steven Adams (knee).

San Antonio’s rookie sensation, Victor Wembanyama, posted a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Keldon Johnson contributed 22 points.

However, the Spurs’ struggles continued as they extended their losing streak to eight games, failing to secure a victory since November 2.

Entering the final quarter trailing 94-87, Memphis unleashed a ferocious comeback, outscoring San Antonio 33-14. Jackson, returning with determination after early foul trouble, played a pivotal role in the Grizzlies’ resurgence, contributing 10 points during a crucial 24-5 run.
