In a stellar display, Jalen Brunson led the New York Knicks (8-5) to their third consecutive victory, securing a 122-108 win against the struggling Charlotte Hornets (3-9) on Saturday night.
Brunson’s impressive 32-point contribution, including 26 in the first half, spearheaded the Knicks to a comfortable 15-point lead by halftime. This victory marks the Knicks’ sixth win in seven games, showcasing their recent surge in form.
Donte DiVincenzo also played a pivotal role, delivering a career-high 25 points, while Julius Randle contributed 21 points. R.J. Barrett, returning after a three-game absence due to migraines, added 15 points, and Mitchell Robinson dominated the boards with 14 rebounds.
Despite LaMelo Ball’s stellar 34-point performance for the Hornets and rookie Brandon Miller’s career-high 29 points, Charlotte suffered its fourth consecutive loss. Miles Bridges contributed 19 points in the defeat.
After a strong first quarter, the Knicks established a 15-point lead three times in the second quarter, with the last at 47-32.
Although Charlotte mounted a comeback, hitting two 3-pointers early in the fourth quarter to close within 94-88, New York responded with a decisive 15-6 run. This run, led by Barrett and DiVincenzo, extinguished any hopes of a Hornets comeback.
