Trae Young: “It’s hard to find consistency when it’s not a habit yet”

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young doesn’t think the group is where they want to be at yet on both ends (6-6 record).

(via Atlanta Hawks):

“We know where we need to be and where we’re going to be at the end of the year. So that’s the bright spot, just understanding we’re not even close to where we need to be to win at the highest level and in the playoffs. The regular season is not only to get ready for that and you want to win as the season goes on, but you also want to be ready when that time comes. Right now we’re not there yet, but my confidence…and I say it every year, we’ll be ready by that time. I believe in coach Quin [Snyder] and the spots he’s going to put us in, it’s going to become a lot easier and natural for us on offense and the way we play. Our defense in preseason looked great, and then the first couple games it kind of slipped. We’ve had moments throughout the year where we’ve been really good. So, it’s just about being consistent with what we’re doing. It’s hard to find consistency when it’s not a habit yet. We’ll make everything that Quin is telling us a habit, and it’s going to work for us in the long run.”
