Panathinaikos secures victory over Virtus with a late outburst

Panathinaikos Athens secured a 90-76 victory at home against Virtus Bologna, concluding the EuroLeague double-game week with two consecutive wins, thanks to a remarkable 20-3 run in the fourth period.

Dinos Mitoglou played a pivotal role, contributing 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, while Mathias Lessort made a significant impact with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Lessort’s defensive and offensive prowess in the decisive fourth period proved crucial as Panathinaikos turned a 62-67 deficit into an 82-70 advantage in less than five minutes, shifting the momentum in their favor. Kostas Sloukas and Kendrick Nunn also had notable performances, scoring 11 points each.

On the opposing side, Marco Belinelli led Virtus Bologna with 20 points before being ejected in the fourth period, going scoreless in the last quarter. Tornike Shengelia contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds.
