As the Los Angeles Clippers grapple with a six-game losing streak, Russell Westbrook, the former MVP, is making a selfless move to shake things up.

According to a recent report, the 35-year-old guard has volunteered to come off the bench, recognizing the need for chemistry among the team’s star trio of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden.

Last season, Westbrook faced a similar situation with the Lakers, where he was moved to a bench role, causing visible discontent. However, this time, it was Westbrook who approached the coaching staff with the idea.

Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report shared, “Westbrook, the vocal leader of the team, told the coaching staff he wants to do whatever it takes to win.”

The Clippers, currently at a 3-7 record, have struggled since acquiring Harden, losing five consecutive games. Head coach Tyronn Lue acknowledged the challenge of getting accomplished players to buy into reduced roles.

This season Westbrook is averaging 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5.7 assists in 30.7 minutes per game for the Clippers.
