Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone has secured a contract extension, making him one of the NBA’s top-paid coaches.

This follows Malone’s instrumental role in leading the Nuggets to their first-ever NBA championship in 2023.

With an 8-2 record to start the 2023-24 season, Malone’s leadership has propelled the Nuggets to Western Conference supremacy. Their impressive 16-4 playoff run in 2023 stands as the league’s most dominant since the 2017 Golden State Warriors.

Malone, the fourth-longest-tenured coach in the league, holds a 375-272 (.580) regular-season record and a 37-31 (.554) playoff record with Denver.

Under his guidance, the Nuggets boast the second-best winning percentage in the NBA since the 2018-19 season, trailing only the Milwaukee Bucks.
