Zion Williamson: “I’m taking a little bit of a backseat right now”

Following the New Orleans Pelicans’ (4-6) fifth consecutive loss, this time against the Dallas Mavericks (8-2) with a score of 136-124, Zion Williamson, the team’s star player, shared insights into the challenges he is presently confronting.

Speaking about the difficulties, Williamson referred to a team meeting from the previous year where areas for improvement were discussed.

“Last year, we had a team meeting and we brought up some things I can do better, especially with buying into the program. Right now, it’s tough. I’m taking a little bit of a backseat right now. I’m trusting the process. I’m trying my best to buy in right now,” he said, as reported by Will Guillory.

Despite the Pelicans’ recent struggles, Williamson continues to make significant contributions, averaging 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 32.1 minutes per game this season.
