Tyler Herro reacts to nearly missing on his first triple-double

Tyler Herro’s electrifying performance, just one assist shy of a coveted triple-double, played a pivotal role in guiding the Miami Heat to a resounding 121-114 triumph over the Washington Wizards in the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament.

Herro’s remarkable display included a 24-point offensive onslaught, complemented by a well-rounded effort that saw him snatch 10 rebounds and provide nine assists, highlighting his multifaceted skills and vital contribution in the Heat’s decisive victory.

Following the game, Herro candidly admitted his awareness of the tantalizing opportunity to achieve a triple-double and shared his perspective on the near-miss.

“Yeah, I was aware of it,” the 23-year-old point guard said, as reported by Zachary Weinberger of ClutchPoints. Herro continued, “My teammates were trying to help me get that last assist. We play to win, you know. We had a substantial lead, and I think, more importantly, it’s about closing out the game. I wasn’t actively seeking my 10th assist. I’ll get a triple-double at some point. If it happens, great; if not, we’ll gladly accept the win.”
