According to recent reports, the New York Knicks are actively intensifying efforts to make Joel Embiid, the reigning NBA MVP, their foremost acquisition target.

Embiid himself has reportedly shown interest in a potential move to New York, adding fuel to the speculations surrounding the star center’s possible departure from his current team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

As reported by Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Knicks’ president of basketball operations, Leon Rose, has specifically made acquiring Joel Embiid their number one priority, with an offer reportedly on the table involving a package including notable players such as Julius Randle, R.J. Barrett, Evan Fournier, and Mitchell Robinson.

The proposal also includes the potential inclusion of two or three first-round draft picks in the exchange deal.

During the previous season, Embiid demonstrated his dominance on the court, securing the league’s top scorer title with an impressive average of 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 34.6 minutes per game.

With the 29-year-old center currently under a lucrative 4-year, $213 million contract, which extends through the 2026-27 season, the stakes for any potential trade involving Embiid are significantly high.
