The Milwaukee Bucks made waves this offseason with a surprising trade acquisition of Damian Lillard. However, one key figure in the Bucks organization was left in the dark about the trade discussions – their two-time MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The trade for Lillard, who had expressed his desire to join the Miami Heat, was a significant shake-up in the NBA landscape. Still, it appears the Bucks chose to keep their star player, Antetokounmpo, out of the loop during the process.

In a recent interview with Sam Amick of The Athletic, Antetokounmpo revealed his lack of awareness regarding the trade discussions.

he Greek Freak expressed understanding for the decision, as the trade involved his close friend and teammate, Jrue Holiday.

Antetokounmpo, known for his commitment to the game, was lifting weights with the team’s strength and conditioning coach when the news broke.

“No idea,” Antetokounmpo said about the trade talks. “No idea. But I understand why, because Jrue Holiday is my guy. And I don’t want (to be part of that process). I don’t do this. I was lifting weights (at the practice facility) with the strength and conditioning coach (Suki Hobson), and Suki said, ‘Oh!’ (as she looked at the news on her phone). And I said, ‘What’s going on?’ And then she showed me.”
