Mavericks forward Tim Hardaway Jr. has firmly declared his preference for the Boston Celtics as America’s basketball team, despite the Lakers’ longstanding legacy and numerous NBA championships.

Although the Warriors have experienced considerable success in recent years, amassing a new wave of supporters, Hardaway dismisses the notion of considering them as America’s basketball team, highlighting the historical achievements of the Celtics and the Lakers, who both hold an impressive 17 NBA titles to their names.

Hardaway expressed his viewpoint during an episode of the Run Your Race podcast, unequivocally asserting that his allegiance lies with the Celtics, emphasizing their prolonged history of success and impact in the world of basketball.

“[America’s basketball team] is definitely not the Warriors… I think it’s [the Celtics]…They’ve been winning since the start of this sh*t. It’s either [Lakers] or Boston for me, but I’d say Boston,” Hardaway said, via ClutchPoints.
