Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s influential 25-year-old point guard, has been showcasing remarkable leadership on the court.

Notably, last season he secured the fourth spot among the NBA’s top scorers, boasting an impressive average of 31.4 points per game and earning his first-ever All-Star title.

Despite his accustomed ball-dominant style, Gilgeous-Alexander acknowledges the importance of adapting to an off-the-ball playing strategy.

Drawing inspiration from basketball legend Michael Jordan, he referenced MJ’s transition to the triangle offense during his career, emphasizing the necessity of diversifying his gameplay.

“I don’t know if you saw ‘The Last Dance’ documentary, but there’s a point in Michael Jordan’s career where he had to learn the triangle offense and playing (without) the ball in his hands 24/7. So if Michael Jordan has to do it, I definitely have to do it,” Gilgeous-Alexander said, per Clemente Almanza.
