The anticipation surrounding Victor Wembanyama winning an NBA championship has been a frequent topic of discussion since his selection as the No. 1 overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs.

Recognized as a generational talent, Wembanyama’s unique skills have already left a notable impact during the NBA preseason.

Despite being a strong contender for the Rookie of the Year title for the 2023-24 season, Wembanyama remains focused on his performance rather than the accolades.

He understands that achieving success aligns with his talent and is confident that if he performs according to his capabilities, accolades such as Rookie of the Year will naturally follow.

“It [ROY] is not my main goal,” Wembanyama said. “I know it’s going to come. But it’s not something I should worry about. It’ll come naturally if I put my 100 percent on the court and sacrifice for my teammates.”
