Despite being a seasoned NBA player at 33, Damian Lillard remains resolute in his assertion that he will maintain his peak performance well into his late thirties.

Reflecting on criticisms about his potential decline, the new Bucks star emphasized his injury-free career history and his commitment to maintaining his physical fitness and agility over the years.

Dismissing notions of an imminent slowdown, Lillard confidently declared his intention to continue moving on the court with the same dynamic energy and precision, even as he approaches the age of 38.

Moreover, the seasoned shooter highlighted the longevity of his shooting ability, underscoring his belief that his exceptional shooting skills will remain a fundamental part of his game for the foreseeable future.

“I don’t live a hard life,” Lillard said, per Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated. “I’ve shown no signs of slowing down. I saw people saying, Oh, he gets hurt. I wasn’t hurt last year. I was hurt the year before that. I chose to have surgery. I don’t have an injury history.

“There’s a lot of people who have been hurt a bunch of times. I’ve been healthy my whole career. So when I see that stuff, it’s almost like they’re giving me an opportunity to show that they’re wrong. I’m going to be 38, moving the same way I move right now. I promise you. And shooting, that doesn’t go away.”
