As the Milwaukee Bucks gear up for the 2023-24 season, Khris Middleton, formerly the team’s secondary offensive option, prepares for a modified role following the arrival of Damian Lillard.
The trade, which brought Lillard to the Bucks, has revamped the team’s dynamic, placing Middleton in a supportive role alongside two basketball juggernauts, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the ex-Trail Blazers superstar.
Acknowledging the exceptional talents of both Lillard and Antetokounmpo, Middleton understands the need to adapt his game to complement their playing styles.
“In my mind, it’s all about fitting in, being a role player when necessary, and adjusting my role throughout the game to address the team’s requirements,” Middleton said in a recent interview with Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
“Dame and Giannis deserve the accolades and the spotlight, and they handle much of the heavy lifting. My focus is on aiding them, creating opportunities by spacing the floor, and making their jobs a bit easier.
“When the time is right, I’ll have my moments to be myself. We all rely on each other, and they understand that I’m here to support them when called upon.”
