Carsen Edwards-led Bayern advances to German Cup quarterfinals

Bayern Munich secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the German Cup with a dominant 101-73 victory against Oldenburg.

Carsen Edwards led the Pablo Laso-coached team with 20 points, while Serge Ibaka came close to a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Sylvain Francisco contributed 11 points, and big men Devin Booker and Frank Gilespie each scored ten points, with Gilespie also grabbing eight rebounds.

Despite the loss, Charles Manning was the top scorer for Oldenburg with 15 points, followed by Brekkott Chapman with 14 and Dewayne Russell with 13.

Deane Williams also reached double digits with 10 points.

Meanwhile, ALBA Berlin also advanced with a convincing 96-71 win over Braunschweig.

Johannes Thiemann shone with 20 points and six rebounds, supported by Matt Thomas with 16 points and Tim Schneider with 11 points.

For Braunschweig, Jilson Bango had a solid performance with 17 points and seven boards, Ferdinand Zylka added 14 points, and Martin Peterka contributed 10 points.
