As James Harden pushes for a trade to the Clippers, negotiations with the 76ers have hit a snag, primarily due to the Clippers’ reluctance to include Terance Mann, a player highly favored by the team, in the deal, which has so far only included draft picks.

The situation becomes even more intriguing as NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski disclosed the Clippers’ past pursuit of Jrue Holiday, suggesting that they were willing to offer more for the point guard during his availability for trade.

However, the Celtics successfully secured Holiday, leaving the Clippers empty-handed in that regard.

Another potential target was Malcolm Brogdon, whose acquisition was also unsuccessful. Despite the failed attempts, Brogdon’s availability later in the season remains a possibility, especially considering his recent move to the Trail Blazers as part of the Holiday trade.

Wojnarowski shed light on the Clippers’ priorities, stating, “I think the Clippers view of it is we’d prefer James Harden, we’re willing to offer more for James Harden, but Brogdon does loom.”

He indicated that if the team fails to secure Harden and the need for a player becomes urgent, the Clippers might pivot towards Brogdon, given their previous attempts to acquire him.

“Earlier they were much more aggressive with Jrue Holiday with Portland. They wanted to get him and they offered more than they’re willing to do with Harden. So there’s tiers of this.

“But right now they do prioritize Harden over Malcolm Brogdon. But as the year goes on, if they feel like they need somebody, it’s certainly something to watch.”
