Former NBA player Brian Scalabrine, a 2008 Celtics champion, expressed disbelief over ESPN’s recent player ranking, where Serbian center Nikola Jokic landed at the second spot, right behind Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Despite Jokic’s instrumental role in securing the Denver Nuggets’ first-ever championship last season, Scalabrine couldn’t fathom how he wasn’t ranked #1 and by a substantial margin.

The Red Mamba made his sentiments clear on SiriusXM NBA Radio, stating, “The guy is so freaking good. I just don’t understand, right now, how it’s not a wide margin.”

ESPN’s top 10 NBA players:

  1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
  2. Nikola Jokic
  3. Joel Embiid
  4. Luka Doncic
  5. Steph Curry
  6. Jayson Tatum
  7. Kevin Durant
  8. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
  9. LeBron James
  10. Anthony Davis.
