Jason Kidd, head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, recently discussed the MVP potential of his star player, Luka Doncic.

Kidd expressed his confidence in the Slovenian superstar’s ability to win the MVP award, emphasizing that Doncic’s consistent high-level performance puts him in the MVP conversation.

Kidd emphasized the importance of Luka’s health and the team’s success in the MVP race, suggesting that if Doncic remains healthy and the Mavericks perform well, he could secure the MVP trophy.

“Luka is one of the best players in the world and so he’s always going to be mentioned as an MVP candidate,” Kidd said after the Mavericks lost preseason game against Real Madrid in the Spanish capital. “For him it’s about being healthy.

“Again, last year’s numbers – 30, 8 and 8 – those are like video game numbers. He’s doing it at a high level. And then you’re going to have to sprinkle and we got to win.

“So if we can do those two things of him being healthy and us winning, he can end up with that MVP trophy.”
