Jaden Ivey talks on and off ball reps with Cade Cunningham

Detroit Pistons sophomore Jaden Ivey feels confident that he can play both guard positions when needed after getting many on-ball reps last year without Cade Cunningham/playing off-ball a lot at Rico Hines with him healthy this summer.

(via Detroit Pistons Content):

“It helped me a lot, honestly, being able to get those reps on the ball. I talked about it last year: I didn’t get as many point guard reps in college, that was something that I was still learning. And with Cade being out, I was able to be on the ball more, get other people in actions and knowing what actions to go to, and calling plays. I got to experience that with Cade being out, and now that Cade’s gonna be back, I also got reps this summer. We played pickup at Rico Hines and I was able to get those off-ball reps as well, not being on the ball. And when I’m on the ball, I look to get other people involved. So I think it’s gonna just work and benefit for the both of us being able to be on the floor together, and knowing what Cade likes to get to. Just playing great team ball, I think that’s my mindset going into the season.”
