Malika Andrews recently sought legal protection against Ahmed Abubakar, a 41-year-old individual from New Jersey.

Andrews claims that Abubakar has been subjecting her, Stephen A. Smith, and other ESPN colleagues to harassment.

The harassment was initiated with messages in September 2022, escalating into threatening actions, including obtaining Andrews’ unlisted phone number and making multiple unwarranted calls.

Abubakar is also accused of harassing “First Take” host Molly Qerim and was arrested in August for showing up unannounced at Qerim’s residence.

Andrews revealed that Abubakar went to ESPN’s Los Angeles site in an attempt to contact her, Smith, and Qerim.

Concerned for her safety, Andrews requested the court enforce a restraining order, mandating Abubakar stay at least 100 yards away from her, Smith, her fiancé Dave McMenamin, and others.

The court promptly approved the temporary restraining order following Andrews’ application.
