The San Antonio Spurs are gearing up for the upcoming NBA season, and second-year forward Jeremy Sochan has drawn high praise from legendary head coach Gregg Popovich.

During a recent Media Day press conference, Popovich compared Sochan’s versatility to that of a utility infielder in baseball.

“He can play one through four, and depending on circumstances, who we’re playing, injuries, I could see him going to the five, and us playing small,” Pop said, per Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

Popovich continued to laud Sochan’s abilities, highlighting his competitive nature, ball-handling skills, and playmaking ability. “He’s one of our best passers,” Popovich noted. “He’s really important in creating pace for us, that up-tempo style that we did so much better with last year. Very, very fun to watch.”
