Mindaugas Kuzminskas: “Priorities in my decisions are different than before”

Mindaugas Kuzminskas seemed quite cheerful on AEK Athens’ media day.

The Greek team welcomed notable additions in the recent summer, such as Jordan McRae, Brian McLemore, Mfiondu Kabengele, and Chasson Randle, a EuroLeague champion from 2018.

After a successful season with Pinar Karsiyaka in Turkey that concluded with the team making it to the domestic league finals, Kuzminskas began considering his next moves.

However, he wasn’t keen on delaying his decision for too long.

“I’m almost 34, and the priorities in my decisions are different than before,” Kuzminskas tells BasketNews.

“Now, it’s more about feeling well, living in a nice place, surrounded by great people on the team. I think that’s the place. The way you feel off the court is very important for the results you have on the court.”

The Lithuanian international had the option to postpone his decision on his next signing until the conclusion of the World Cup.

“If that had been the case, let’s be honest, I’d probably have had some better offers,” he said.

“But I have a family, and my son is very little. I didn’t want to keep them and myself waiting. I thought about all the pluses and minuses.”
