Boston has been looking to trade Malcolm Brogdon throughout offseason

The Boston Celtics planned to send Malcolm Brogdon to the Los Angeles Clippers as part of a trade involving Kristaps Porzingis last June, but the trade fell through.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports that the Celtics have been actively seeking a Malcolm Brogdon trade since June, possibly as part of an offer for Jrue Holiday.

The Clippers withdrew from the trade due to concerns about Brogdon’s health.

In response, Boston swiftly arranged a trade sending Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies, enabling them to acquire Porzingis along with two first-round picks.

Brogdon, who signed a two-year, $45 million extension with the Indiana Pacers in 2021, will see his contract expire in 2025.
