The situation surrounding Malcolm Brogdon’s status with the Boston Celtics has raised eyebrows and concerns.

The reigning Sixth Man of the Year found himself on the verge of a trade this offseason, but health issues threw a wrench into the deal’s completion.

The Celtics ultimately decided to part ways with one of their core players, Marcus Smart, to acquire Kristaps Porzingis.

However, Brogdon’s future remains shrouded in uncertainty, with his health and relationship with the team becoming key talking points.

Veteran NBA writer Gary Washburn expressed his concerns, stating, “I’d be very highly surprised if everyone in camp on October 2nd is completely 100% healthy. There’s always some type of nagging injury.

“We’ll see how Malcolm is. Malcolm’s the one I’m concerned about too because we’ve heard nothing, and he’s angry with the team.”

The lack of communication between Brogdon and the Celtics has fueled speculation about his future course of action. Some suggest that he may choose not to undergo surgery and instead opt for a protest stance, letting his injury heal on its own.

Last season Brogdon, 30, averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26 minutes per game.
