FC Bayern Munich reached an agreement with swingman K.C. Rivers to work together until the end of the year, the club announced Tuesday. Rivers (1.96 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Real Madrid, to which he helped win the Turkish Airlines Euroleague title last season. Rivers played a major role in key moments, scoring 17 points in the semifinal against Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul and 21 in Game 1 of the playoffs against Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Rivers averaged 5.3 points on 41.1% three-point shooting and 100% free throw accuracy in 30 Euroleague games last season, in which he also helped Madrid win the Spanish double – league and Copa del Rey titles. Rivers had joined Madrid from Reno of the D-League, where he averaged 15.8 points and 4 rebounds in 47 games in the 2013-14 season. Before that, Rivers helped Khimki reach the Top 16 in the 2012-13 season by averaging 9.6 points in 24 games and hitting a buzzer-beating, game-winning shot in a regular season showdown against Fenerbahce. Rivers has also played for Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in Russia, Virtus Bologna, Associazione Basket Latina and Benetton Treviso in Italy and Chorale Roanne in France. “I am glad to be in Munich. The possibility to play with this team at a high level in the Euroleague was tempting,” Rivers said. “Now I want to bring in my experience in the Euroleague and the German League, so we can achieve a lot as a team.”
