After it was announced on Tuesday that Christian Wood would be joining the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-year deal, the entire Lakeshow fandom has celebrated with delight knowing that another notable free agent will look to aid them in winning their 18th banner.

But the prized big man is even more ecstatic as he is finally about to represent a team that he’s been aspiring to join.

After months of long pursuit, the Lakers have successfully completed their mission of landing Wood’s service.

Wood, 27, further adds offensive dynamism to the already-loaded Lakers team. In his campaign with the Dallas Mavericks in the previous 2022-23 season, the big man averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 boards in 51.5 percent shooting for 67 total games.

The inclusion of Wood also propelled Los Angeles to finally have a supplemental backup for Anthony Davis. Though the impending role of the undrafted center has been a major question so far, the club may at least take a sigh of relief now as they obtained a high-caliber unit on a potentially reserved role for the star big man.

The Lakers will be the seventh overall team of Wood out of his eight-year professional career since entering the league as an undrafted player in 2015. While murmurs of attitude issues may have impacted this, Wood can only hope he’ll eventually find the home he’s been seeking in L.A.
