In three of the past four FIBA Basketball World Cup tournaments, Serbia has consistently advanced to the final four.

Their most recent success occurred at the Mall of Asia Arena, where they convincingly defeated Lithuania with a final score of 87-68. The key factor behind this victory was Bogdan Bogdanovic’s exceptional shooting skills.

Serbia’s recent World Cup journey has seen them reach the semi-finals in 2010, make it to the finals in 2014, and secure a fifth-place finish in China in 2019. In the wake of this defeat, Lithuania will now participate in the Classification Games 5-8.

“Of course, this win is dedicated to Borisa Simanic,” Aleksa Avramovic said. “Every game that we play after his surgery is for him. He is an extremely good person and player. This is for him”

Borisa Simanic had to undergo the removal of one of his kidneys as a result of an injury he suffered earlier during the tournament.
