Hornets waive guard Kobi Simmons

The Hornets have officially waived Kobi Simmons. The 26-year-old guard appeared in five games for Charlotte during the 2022-23 NBA campaign, averaging 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.

Before securing a standard contract with the Hornets on April 7th, Simmons was a prominent figure in the Greensboro Swarm lineup.

He boasts the G-League affiliate’s all-time scoring record with an impressive 1,803 points amassed over three seasons (2019-21, 2022-23).

Simmons’ averaged 18.4 points, with shooting percentages of 46.2% from the field, 36.2% from beyond the arc, and 78.9% from the free-throw line in the G League.

Following his time in the G-League, Simmons made appearances in the California Classic and NBA 2K24 Summer League for the Hornets during the current year.
