Slovenia managed to establish a significant lead in the second half and defeated Cape Verde with a score of 92-77.

This victory allowed Slovenia’s basketball team to advance to the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 without a single loss. The game took place on Wednesday night at the Okinawa Arena.

The European team had to overcome challenging competition from their African opponents, and even Luka Doncic struggled to make a strong start.

However, despite this, they secured the top position in Group F with a flawless 3-0 record.

Despite Luka Doncic’s slow beginning, he still emerged as the highest scorer for Slovenia, contributing 19 points despite making 5 of 17 shots from the field.

A notable performance came from Klemen Prepelic, who played a crucial role with 18 points in the victory.

Bine Prepelic and Aleksej Nikolic also made significant contributions by each adding 11 points to the team’s triumphant outcome.
