The Serbian national basketball squad reached the Araneta Coliseum to acquaint themselves with the court before their inaugural match against China in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, scheduled for Saturday.
The Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic affirmed that the team is eagerly anticipating the commencement of the official games.
“We came to Manila, we are excited. We had hard preparations, we are happy to be able to start the competition. We know what we have to do,” Bogdanovic said.
Without typical playmakers, the Hawks’ ace will lead the offensive setup, much like he does in Atlanta.
“I play the same way here and there, now with maybe more minutes,” the Serbian captain said. “In Atlanta, I have a similar role, my teammates look for me, and the defense is more focused and we use that. Here they are a little different and then the game adapts more.”
