The upcoming statue of Kobe Bryant outside the Crypto.com Arena in LA will incorporate his daughter Gigi and pay homage to his jersey numbers, 8 and 24. The Lakers are set to reveal the statue on August 8, 2024, as shared by an insider with DailyMail.com.
Lakers owner Jeanie Buss had previously announced intentions to create a statue for Bryant following the tragic helicopter crash in January 2020 that claimed his life, Gigi’s, six friends’, and the pilot’s.
The source also conveyed that Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s widow, is involved in the plans, although the artist for the statue has not yet been selected.
