Recent developments suggest that Pascal Siakam’s future with the Toronto Raptors remains uncertain as the team navigates potential trade scenarios.

While talks with the Atlanta Hawks for a possible deal were ongoing, they have currently paused. Siakam’s status, however, indicates that he could likely stay with the Raptors through the trade deadline.

NBA insider Shams Charania’s report in The Athletic shed light on the Hawks’ interest in Siakam, with discussions revolving around players like De’Andre Hunter and AJ Griffin, along with draft compensation. Yet, the Raptors have steadily increased their demands for any potential trade. The situation has led to a temporary halt in talks, and sources reveal that the Hawks are prepared to begin the 2023-24 season with their existing roster.

Despite the trade speculation, Siakam remains a Raptor. While no extension talks have gained substantial traction, sources indicate that Siakam has not requested a trade.

His performance during the 2022-23 season, with an average of 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists, positions him as a valuable asset.

As Siakam enters the final year of his contract with a significant earning, the Raptors appear poised to explore all options for future growth.
