Real Madrid adds perimeter threat Taylor

Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion Real Madrid added another perimeter weapon to its roster with the signing of shooting guard Jeffrey Taylor, who arrives from Charlotte of the NBA. Taylor (2.02 meters, 26 years old) averaged 4.4 points in 29 games for Charlotte last season. He played a total of 132 games over three seasons for Charlotte; his best season was 2013-14, when he averaged 8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 26 appearances before an Achilles tendon injury shortened his season. Taylor has played for the Swedish national teams and starred at EuroBasket 2013 with 21.2 points per game. He is the son of Jeff Taylor, who played professionally in Sweden. The younger Taylor grew up in Sweden before finishing high school in the United States and attending Vanderbilt University. Over four seasons for the Commodores, Taylor was twice named to the All-Southeastern Conference Second Team and left as the school’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,897 points.
