The upcoming Hall of Fame enshrinement of Dwyane Wade just left that indelible proud feeling at the side of Bam Adebayo.

In an interview with Ira Winderman of South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Adebayo revealed that he’ll be in attendance at the 2023 Naismith Hall of Fame honoring this Aug. 12 as a way to support his former Miami Heat teammate and mentor.

“That sounds crazy,” Adebayo noted of Wade who is now just days away from the induction. “I’m excited. I’m excited to be there. I’m excited to really give him his flowers. He definitely deserves it.”

Adebayo managed to share the Miami court with Wade during the all-time great’s last 1 ½ seasons in the NBA. For him, he can only be grateful for paving the way for them to continue carrying the franchise’s legacy and unbreakable culture.

Wade stands as the undisputed greatest Heat player of all time who led the club in winning its first-ever championship in 2005-06. He went on to proceed by bringing home two more titles in 2012 and 2013 with the help of both LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

Up to this point, Wade sits atop the Heat leaderboard in most statistical categories including points (21,556), assists (5,310), steals (1,492), field goals made (7,842), games played (948) and win shares (116.1).

“He’s run this city, through championships and was at the top when he was here,” Adebayo said. “So, for me, man, I was just honored to really be his teammate. I’m honored for him to actually invite me to the Hall of Fame, for me to be there.

“And it’s going to be a surreal moment.”
