After eight seasons as one of the most-identified players on the Fenerbahce Istanbul roster, veteran forward Emir Preldzic will try to fill that role for a new team. Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul signed Preldzic (2.06 meters, 27 years old) to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Preldzic played a total of 152 Euroleague games for Fenerbahce and scored his 1,000th career Euroleague point last season. Perhaps the best season for the all-around talent came in 2013-14, when Preldzic averaged 10.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 23 Euroleague games. For his career, Preldzic has posted 7.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. His tenure with Fenerbahce featured five Turkish league titles, three Turkish Cups and the club’s first appearance in the Euroleague Final Four among many highlights. Preldzic is also a member of the Turkish national team, though he will not compete at this summer’s Eurobasket 2015.
