The Lakers made headlines yesterday with the announcement of a lucrative three-year, $186 million extension for their star forward, Anthony Davis. The move has raised eyebrows among fans and analysts alike, given Davis’ recent injury history and concerns about his long-term performance.

However, Rich Paul, the agent representing both Davis and LeBron James, stepped up to defend the Lakers’ decision. In an interview with Sportskeeda, the CEO of Klutch Sports explained the team’s rationale behind the extension.

“They understand AD and his work ethic has shown,” he said. “He has some injuries, but it wasn’t due to him not working. It’s not like he came into camp overweight or showed any laziness. There were just fluke things. That happens in the game.”

Indeed, despite facing injury setbacks in recent seasons, Davis has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to his training and preparation. His determination and skill on the court have been evident, even as he navigated through various challenges.

During the last NBA season, Davis appeared in 56 regular-season games for the Lakers, averaging of 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 34 minutes per game.

With Paul’s endorsement of Davis’ work ethic and Lakers’ faith in their star’s abilities, all eyes will be on Davis to deliver exceptional performances and lead the Purple and Gold to success in the upcoming seasons.
