Maccabi secures signing of point guard Tamir Blatt on two-year deal

Maccabi has officially announced the signing of talented point guard Tamir Blatt on a two-year deal. The 26-years-old point guard returns to Israel after his successful two-year stint with ALBA Berlin in Germany. Blatt averaged 7.8 points and 4.6 assists across 30 EuroLeague games last season, with 14 as a starter.

Tamir Blatt is no stranger to Maccabi, as his father, David Blatt, formerly served as the team’s head coach. David led Maccabi to a historic EuroLeague crown in 2014 and currently holds the position of consultant and chairman of the professional committee.

Additionally, Blatt will reunite with head coach Oded Kattash, who played a pivotal role in launching his career with Hapoel Jerusalem and the Israeli national team.

Blatt’s arrival marks his debut playing for Maccabi, having previously showcased his talents for rival teams such as Hapoel Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, AS Ramat HaSharon, and Hapoel Holon.
