Dennis Schroder: “I’m here to lead the Raptors”

Dennis Schroder, who is expected to become the Toronto Raptors’ starting point guard next season, announced his arrival in Toronto by saying he’s looking forward to bringing experience and leadership to his new team:

Schroder, 6-foot-3, 172 pounds, averaged 12.6 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 30.1 minutes in 66 games (50 starts) with the Los Angeles Lakers last season.

He shot .415 (270-650) from the field and .857 (216-252) from the free throw line. Schröder scored in double figures 41 times, led the team in scoring six times, and assists in 12 games. In the playoffs, he averaged 7.4 points, 2.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 26.1 minutes in 16 games (three starts).
